Sugar Trip

candy-1007945_1280So for about 5 years I have tried lots of things to loose weight. It all started when I turned 40. Suddenly anything just went to my hips…and thighs and arms….you get the picture. First I tried eating healthier. I had of course let the odd treat get more than an odd occasion. Yeah that didnt end well. I put on more weight. So the food thing isnt that bad so I looked at more exercise and  we got a WII fit thingy. I balanced, jiggled and boxed my little socks off and put on more weight.

Next I tried slimming shakes….yeah they were useless. I put on more weight.

Next I walked lots. I treated myself to a fitbit and got addicted. I was doing more than 10,000 steps a day. An exercise bike was added to the mix too. And…you guessed it I put on more weight.

Next I tried nothing . Well everything else wasnt working so I stopped. And put on more weight. I was the healthiest I had ever been. I ate properly and didnt skip meals. I didnt drink or smoke and exercised when I could. Doctor just suggested a slimming club.

So 5 years of trying to loose weight and I managed to actually put on 3 and half stone. Instead of being in size 10 clothes I now peruse the 18 aisle.

We will skip the blubbering snotty break down and move onto me starting to reread an ebook I had on my kindle for yonks. I am still reading it but I can report a weight loss . I have lost 6lbs in the last few weeks. To finally see the scales budge in the other direction after a 5 year climb is one of the best highs ever. But I need to keep myself going so I am making myself accountable and telling you guys.

I wont go into the nitty gritty in this post but bascially I am label reading and if something has less than 5g sugar per 100g I can eat it Above it and its a no go.  ( 5g or less sugar per 100g is considered low. 22g per 100g is high) I dare you to g read some labels on food you consider good.
